This section provides additional information for California residents under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). This section does not apply to information that is not considered "personal information," such as anonymous, deidentified, or aggregated information, nor does it apply to publicly available information as defined in the CCPA. Insofar that we process deidentified personal information, we will not try to reidentify such data.

This California Business Privacy Notice applies to California residents and tells you how Schok collects, uses, shares, discloses, and retains (collectively “processes”) your personal information. We are committed to processing your personal information responsibly and in accordance with applicable laws and internal policies. For the purpose of this California specific Privacy Notice, residents include individuals whose personal information is processed within a business context (“Business Contacts”). Examples of Business Contacts include:

  • individuals acting on behalf of a current, former, or prospective service provider, vendor, or other business partner
  • individuals participating in Schok’s affiliate marketing or supplier programs
  • media contacts, investors, government officials, social media influencers, and other third parties interacting with Schok

Certain terms used in this Notice have the meanings given to them in the California Consumer Privacy Act.

Collection and Use of Personal Information

As a part of business-related activities, we may need to collect and use your personal information for internal administration, regular business management functions, and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

Schok may collect the following types of personal information about Business Contacts.

  • Identifiers (e.g., name, phone number, email address, mailing address)
  • Some characteristics of protected classifications (e.g., race, gender, age, disability)
  • Geolocation data (e.g., Shipment(s) and or Delivery(s) or both location)
  • Audio, electronic, or visual information (e.g., CCTV, video, phone calls, photos)
  • Commercial information (e.g., products or services purchased)
  • Internet or other electronic network activity (e.g., activity while on our company network)
  • Inferences (e.g., preferences, characteristics, behavior)

Purposes for Collecting Personal Information

Schok may use personal information of Business Contacts for the purposes described below.

  • Manage, evaluate, terminate or otherwise administer the business relationship.
  • Create a business point of contact to streamline business communications.
  • Adhere to legal requirements.
  • Comply with Schok’s internal policies, and procedures.
  • Accomplish certain business purposes as practically required by Schok.
  • Carry out investigations, as needed.
  • Identify and/or mitigate theft or fraud, including the security of company-held information.
  • Support law enforcement bodies and reply to legal/regulatory inquiries.

Schok does not process sensitive personal data with the purpose of deducing characteristics about Business Contacts.

To the extent we process deidentified information, we will maintain and use the information in deidentified form and will not attempt to reidentify the information unless permitted or required by applicable law.

Retention of Personal Information 

We will retain your personal information for the time period required or permitted by law or for the time reasonably necessary to achieve the purposes described in this Privacy Notice or any other notice provided at the time of collection.

Schok may obtain personal information about Business Contacts from the following categories of sources:

  • Directly from your employer.
  • Willingly from you.
  • Your device(s) connected to our systems/platforms or service providers.
  • Business contacts who provide information about you.
  • Our Subsidiaries and affiliates.
  • Suppliers or Vendors or both who provide services on our behalf.
  • Local or Federal government agencies or entities.
  • Social Media domains or networks.
  • Background check services.
